black history month

WEEK-2
1- African- American Civil Rights movement (1955-1968.
2- High point of the Civil rights movement was 1963. March on WASHINGTON for jobs and freedom which brought more than250,000 marchers to the grounds of the Lincoln Memorial and the National Mall in Washington D.C . to speech out for an end to Southem racial violence and police brutality, equal opportunity in employment, equal access in education and public accommodations.
3- Voting rights act 1965.
4- Civil rights leader Jesse Jackson ran for DEMOCRATIC Party’s presidential nomination in 1984 and 1988.
5- Barack Obama first black president. He is 44th president of the United States on Nov.4,2008 and inaugurated on Jan. 20,2009.
